Snitch

Snitch is an absolutely amazing Border Collie who helps us keep the Collies in line. He was diagnosed at 6 months of age with severe bilateral hip dysplasia. The orthopedic surgeon said that he already had too much damage to the hip joints to be able to consider TPO, and that our only option was total hip replacement or FHO.
At just over two, Snitch leads an active, pain-free, medication-free life. We opted to practice conservative management until Snitch was fully grown to help minimize surgical risks. Fortunately, with careful exercise, excellent diet, and supplementation, Snitch will not need surgery for quite some time--if ever.
We've learned so much from Snitch--not just about treating hip dysplasia, but about the true character of dogs. For dogs, there is absolutely no such thing as a disability, no self-pity, and no worry about tomorrow. We should all be as good as our dogs...
